Twitter

So, for the past few months I've been trying out Twitter (follow me here) and it's so far been a fun tool. Some describe it as a microblog, where your posts cannot exceed 140 characters. Anyone who uses the Microsoft Instant Messaging client is probably familiar with the prompt underneath your name that asks you to put in what you are doing now...well that's is kind of the point of Twitter. I mean, you can certainly do other things with it: notify people when you have updated your blog, tell your followers (people who care what you have to say and have subscribed to your "tweets"), carry on conversations; but for the most part it's a real-time communication/status tool.

I've tried to figure out how to use it professionally. I think I'm sort of an early adopter, but not of the evangelist type, which is to say that I love signing up for new online tools and seeing how I can use them and benefit from them, but I'm usually reluctant to share that with others unless I KNOW that the service will work. These is especially relevant with Twitter, but I'll get to that a little later. As I've said, I'm trying to figure out how to use this professionally.
